Our story

"I believe that our collective ability to effect positive change in the world is at its greatest when individuals are inspired to do what they love."

That's why I founded Perspectiv. — Meagan Skerchock, Founder

How it started

One conversation that changed everything

After dropping out of Ohio State with a declared major in aerospace engineering, our founder, Meagan, chose a very arbitrary career path: film. After 12 years working on big-budget movies in Hollywood, Meagan decided to go back to college and finish her engineering degree, certain this next chapter would finally feel right.

While applying to schools, Meagan had the great and life-altering fortune of speaking with an aerospace engineer whose story was similar to her own. This engineer had recently completed her degree at Georgia Tech and was working full-time at a great company. However, it turned out that the day-to-day life of an aerospace engineer was not at all what Meagan had dreamed of or envisioned.

That's when it hit her: Meagan was about to set out on an enormous, life-changing journey, go into debt again, spend another four years in college — yet she had no idea what an aerospace engineer actually does. She'd simply romanticized the job in her mind and imagined it would be everything she felt was missing in her film career.

Countless people have dedicated years of their lives and accrued significant debt pursuing a "dream job" that turns out to be the wrong fit entirely. People are so discontented with the work they do that it negatively affects their mood, their lives, and the lives of those around them.

Our mission

Find your purpose. Live it.

That's where Perspectiv comes in. Every person who spends years chasing the wrong career is more than a personal disappointment — it's human potential going to waste: the nurse who might have flourished as a builder, the engineer who might have thrived as an artist, work and talent that never found the right fit.

Our mission is to help as many people as possible find where they belong, at any age and any stage of life, and go on to live meaningful, impactful, and happy lives once they do. People who love their work show up more engaged and more committed, and it ripples out to everyone around them: their families, their coworkers, their communities.

Imagine if fewer people had to guess — if the path forward got a little clearer every time you looked. Now imagine if that were true for everyone: an entire world making decisions based on real understanding instead of guesswork. That's the future we're building toward.
